Factor[e] Hosts New Portfolio Companies For Venture Bootcamp

FACTOR[e] recently welcomed our two new portfolio companies ColdHubs and Sistema Biobolsa to Fort Collins for our venture bootcamp, SmartLaunch.  Built from FACTOR[e]’s firsthand experience providing hands-on, “more than money” support to seed stage ventures, SmartLaunch is focused on critical aspects of technological, commercial, and organizational development. Like everything we do at FACTOR[e], every session is fully customized to each venture’s individual needs.  Of course, SmartLaunch is just the beginning, and we’re excited to work with both teams for years to come.

The latest additions to the FACTOR[e] portfolio traveled from Nigeria and Mexico to participate in SmartLaunch. ColdHubs is a Nigerian venture developing solar-powered cold rooms for 24/7 off-grid storage and preservation of perishable foods. ColdHub units extend the life of fruits and vegetables by 2 to 21 days and provide smallshare farmers a flexible pay-as-you-store subscription model. Factor[e] will be working with ColdHubs to incorporate cutting edge refrigeration and data monitoring technology into the initial rollouts across Nigerian produce markets.

Sistema Biobolsa has developed an anaerobic digestion system that transforms animal manure into biogas and a potent, natural fertilizer. Thousands of customers are already using the Biobolsa system to improve their energy security, increase household income, and protect their health and local environment. FACTOR[e] will be working with Sistema Biobolsa to optimize biogas productivity, build out a suite of end user appliances, and expand beyond Mexican markets.

We had a great week with some world class entrepreneurs who have already compiled an impressive list of accomplishments. Thanks to Nnaemeka, Alex, Camilo, and Esther for all of their work! We’re thrilled to be able to work with these teams and look forward to rolling up our sleeves together and building out two companies that will change the world!
