Tenbite Ermias Joins Factor E as Partner to Bolster Firm’s Global Investment Operations

[Fort Collins, CO] – Factor E, a leading impact investment firm focused on technology-driven solutions for sustainable development, is pleased to announce the appointment of Tenbite Ermias, who will join the organization as Partner. Tenbite will work closely with Managing Partner Morgan DeFoort, sharing leadership responsibilities in strategy, investment, and operations.

For the past two decades, Tenbite has been investing in private sector businesses, establishing professional-services practices, and advising leaders in both business and the public sector across Africa, the Middle East, and the United States. His enthusiasm for technology’s role in economic development and impact investing in emerging markets fits seamlessly with Factor[e]’s mission to accelerate the pace of innovation.

Tenbite’s primary focus at Factor E will be leading the firm’s global investment operations, overseeing the execution of investments, and providing in-market support to portfolio companies. He will play a pivotal role in shaping the firm’s investment strategy and direction, sitting on both the Executive and Investment Committees and reporting directly to the Board.

Before joining Factor E, Tenbite served as the Head of Africa at British International Investment (BII), the UK’s Development Finance Institution. Prior to that, he held positions as a Partner with both the Boston Consulting Group and McKinsey & Company, where he advised clients on a range of strategic and operational matters.

Tenbite holds Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, where he pursued a dual focus on Mechatronics and Management Science.
